Youth services are open to any young person who is aged 12 to 25 years and lives or studies in the City of Melbourne.
We work to make sure all of our programs and services are inclusive and welcoming. Our programs are tailored to meet the specific needs and interests of young people, with particular focus on:
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people
- Culturally and Linguistically Diverse young people
- young people identifying as LGBTIQA+
- international students
- young people living in the municipality’s public housing estates
- young people at risk of or experiencing homelessness.

Our funded service providers
This generalist youth programming targets young people aged 12 to 25 who live, study, work or visit the City of Melbourne.
Work with young people to design and deliver programs that allow them to connect with one another, their families and the wider community. Our services work to amplify the voices of young people and help them realise their hopes and aspirations.
Youth programs and services include:
- sport and recreation activities
- cooking classes
- safe programs and spaces for young women and young men to come together and have fun
- life skills programs
- programs specifically for young people who identify as LGBTIQ+ and young queer people of colour
- support for health and mental health concerns, education, employment, legal and family
- individual intensive support (such as case management and counselling) for young people who have higher support needs.

Frontyard offers a collection of co-located services which address the physical, emotional and social needs of young people aged 12 to 25 who spend time in the Melbourne CBD and are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Young people can access support in relation to:
- accommodation
- Centrelink
- computer access
- employment
- family support and mediation
- general information and support
- health (doctors, nurses and dentists)
- legal advice.
Most services are drop-in so no appointment is necessary. Services include:

- Young People’s Health Service (YPHS)
- Job Services Australia (JSA)
- Youthlaw
- Family Reconciliation and Mediation Program (FRMP)
- Centrelink
